Zertifikatsstudium

Im Zertifikatsstudium belegen Sie Module im Umfang von mindestens 15 Credit Points, Sie sind an der Leuphana Universität Lüneburg als Student*in eingeschrieben, können auf sämtliche Ressourcen der Hochschule zurückgreifen, legen Prüfungen ab und Sie erhalten als Abschluss das Hochschulzertifikat "PS Individuale".

Zertifikatsteilnahme

Bei der Zertifikatsteilnahme nehmen Sie an Modulen im Umfang von mindestens 15 Credit Points teil. Sie legen keine Prüfungen ab und erhalten zum Abschluss eine Bescheinigung. Sie sind kein eingeschriebene/r Student/in. Somit entfallen die Semestergebühren.

Modulstudium

Das Modulstudium schließen Sie mit einer Prüfung ab und erhalten die angegeben Credit Points. Diese können Sie sich auf ein Bachelor- oder Masterstudium anrechnen lassen. Das Modulstudium ist interessant für Sie, wenn Sie nur ein einzelnes oder mehrere Module buchen möchten. Zum Abschluss erhalten Sie eine Bescheinigung mit einer ausführlichen Aufstellung Ihrer erbrachten Leistungen.

Modulteilnahme

Die Modulteilnahme erfolgt OHNE Prüfung. Sie erhalten keine Credit Points. Credit Points sind dann wichtig, wenn Sie diese für ein Bachelor- oder Masterstudium anrechnen lassen wollen. Sie erhalten zum Abschluss des Moduls eine Teilnahmebescheinigung.

Modulinformationen "Human Rights Norms and Principles"

In this module you will explore how globalization affects the protection and governance of human rights for specific groups. You will examine international standards and governance frameworks addressing gender equality, children’s rights, disability rights, and migrants’ rights. Through case studies and critical reflection, you will analyze the challenges and opportunities for realizing these rights in practice.  

Course contents 

  • Globalization and Its Effects on Vulnerable Groups 
  • Governance for Gender Equality and Women’s Human Rights 
  • Human Rights Governance for Children 
  • Human Rights Governance for Persons with Disabilities 
  • Governance for Migrants’ Rights 

Course structure 

  • Duration: six weeks plus one exam week (seven weeks in total) 
  • Structure: six learning phases and one exam phase 
  • Live sessions: approximately three webinars (each approx. 90 minutes). These are the only fixed synchronous elements of the course. As the course is revised prior to each run, there may be minor adjustments to the exact webinar dates and times; however, all live sessions will take place within the official course period. All webinars will be recorded and made available on Moodle for later viewing.
  • Assessment: participants work through the course materials and tasks in each phase at their own pace. The course is assessed through a portfolio exam that compiles all phase tasks and is submitted at the end of the course. 

Learning Materials: e-lectures, academic readings, lecture presentations, curated podcasts, and selected video content accompany each phase to support both independent and guided learning.

Qualifikationsziele

You will acquire substantive knowledge about:

  •  how to identify which specific human rights norms exist for which group;
  •  summarise and explain the reasons for these human rights standards;
  •  interpret the meaning of these human rights in their implementation. 

You will also

  • gain practical skills helpful to compare and contrast specific rights of specific groups;
  • apply theoretical concepts to actual situations and case studies;
  • analyse critical situations and propose recommendations for solutions.
