Modulinformationen "Social Change: Campaigning and Awareness Raising "
This module introduces strategies and methods for human rights advocacy and awareness raising. You will explore how campaigns can drive social change by combining theory with practical tools from communication, activism, and policy engagement. Through real-world examples and practical exercises, you will design their own advocacy campaign, reflecting on ethical dimensions, strategic effectiveness, and potential impact.

- Strategy Development: Tools, Methods, and Approaches
- Campaigning in Practice and Critical Perspectives
Course structure
- Duration: six weeks plus one exam week (seven weeks in total)
- Structure: three learning phases and one exam phase
- Live sessions: around three webinars (each approx. 90 minutes). These are the only fixed dates and will be announced before the course starts. Since the course is revised prior to each run, the exact dates cannot be communicated earlier. All live sessions will be recorded and made available on Moodle.
- Assessment: participants work through the course materials and tasks in each phase at their own pace. The course is assessed through a portfolio exam that compiles all phase tasks and is submitted at the end of the course.
Learning Materials: e-lectures, academic readings, lecture presentations, curated podcasts, and selected video content accompany each phase to support both independent and guided learning.
