This module introduces you to the field of strategic management. You will learn about current market and resource analysis processes and how to use strategic management techniques in cultural organisations and to work with existing markets.

Course content

  • Analysis of the macro-external and micro-external environment, an organisation’s internal situation, SWOT analysis
  • How to conceive programme-market strategies in the cultural sector, evaluation of strategic alternatives, strategy choice


Course structure:

The module lasts 6 weeks and is divided into 3-4 phases. During each phase, you can decide when to prepare and review the content by working through the course material and tasks. There is usually one webinar in each phase, scheduled according to the students' time zones. These are the only fixed dates. Since the course is revised before it begins, the exact dates cannot be communicated beforehand. We calculate a weekly workload of 21 hours. Of course, this may vary depending on personal circumstances. The portfolio exam must be handed in at the end of the course.
