When participating in the certificate program, you will take part in modules worth at least 15 CP. You will not take any exams and will receive a certificate upon completion. You are not a registered student. This means you do not have to pay any semester fees.

Module studies

You complete the module studies with an examination and receive the specified credit points. These can be credited towards a Bachelor's or Master's degree. The modular study programme is interesting for you if you only want to book a single or more modules. At the end, you will receive a certificate with a detailed list of your achievements.

Participation in the module takes place WITHOUT an examination. You do not receive any credit points. Credit points are important if you want to have them credited towards a Bachelor's or Master's degree. You will receive a certificate of attendance at the end of the module.

Product information "Governance in Digital Age "

In this module you will explore how digital transformation and artificial intelligence reshape governance, decision-making, and citizen engagement. You will critically examine how technological innovation affects democracy, accountability, and inclusion, and gain insights into new governance models in a data-driven world. 

Course contents 

  • Digital Governance: Foundations and Transformations 
  • Digital Sovereignty, Security, and Rights 
  • Artificial Intelligence and Public Governance 
  • Digital Inclusion, Equity, and the Digital Divide 
  • Digital Citizenship, Participation, and Trust 

Course structure 

  • Duration: six weeks plus one exam week (seven weeks in total) 
  • Structure: five learning phases and one exam phase 
  • Live sessions: approximately three webinars (each approx. 90 minutes). These are the only fixed dates and will be announced before the course starts. Since the course is revised prior to each run, the exact dates cannot be communicated earlier. One hybrid session also takes place during the Campus Week in September, with the option to attend either on campus or online. All live sessions will be recorded and made available on Moodle. 
  • Assessment: participants work through the course materials and tasks in each phase at their own pace. The course is assessed through a portfolio exam that compiles all phase tasks and is submitted at the end of the course. 

Learning Materials: e-lectures, academic readings, lecture presentations, curated podcasts, and selected video content accompany each phase to support both independent and guided learning.
